Discipline
Discipline is regarded as one of the fundamental principles of education at
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira. The objective of discipline is not merely
to enforce rules, but to cultivate self-control, responsibility, punctuality,
mutual respect and an ideal residential atmosphere where students can grow
intellectually, morally and spiritually.
Every resident student is expected to follow the rules of the College and
the Hostel sincerely so that academic excellence, harmonious living and
character formation may flourish in an atmosphere of peace and cooperation.
General Discipline
Students must conform to the rules and discipline of the College and the Hostel. The purpose of discipline is to help students develop their potential in an orderly manner and maintain a peaceful academic atmosphere.
Every student shall regulate his daily life according to the prescribed routine for study, work and prayer, maintaining punctuality and simplicity in all matters.
Absence from classes while remaining in the hostel is considered a serious offence unless specifically permitted by the Superintendent or the Principal.
No student is permitted to leave the College campus during College hours without prior permission from the competent authority.
Students leaving the hostel must record the necessary details in the Hostel Leave Register before departure.

The Spirit of Discipline
At Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, discipline is regarded as an essential
part of education. It is intended to cultivate self-control, responsibility,
honesty, punctuality and mutual respect rather than merely enforcing rules.
The disciplined residential environment enables students to develop strong
character, leadership qualities and a lifelong commitment to ethical values
and service to society.
