Swami Brahmananda Book Bank

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira started the Swami Brahmananda Book Bank as a part of its outreach programme on 27 July 2013. The initiative aims to provide textbooks and other study materials to financially disadvantaged students from different educational institutions.

The Book Bank ensures that deserving students receive the books they need for their academic session, enabling them to continue their education without the burden of purchasing costly textbooks.

Through this noble initiative, the College seeks to promote equal educational opportunities while encouraging the spirit of service and social responsibility.

Objectives

To provide textbooks and essential learning materials to financially needy students.
To reduce the financial burden of purchasing academic books.
To encourage the reuse of books for the benefit of multiple batches of students.
To promote educational equity through community participation and social responsibility.

How the Book Bank Works

Students recommended by the Heads of their respective educational institutions collect the required textbooks from Vidyamandira according to their academic needs.
Along with textbooks, exercise notebooks and writing materials are also distributed whenever available.
Books are issued for one academic session and must be returned after completion of the session.
Returned books are reissued to new students, enabling each set of books to benefit multiple students over successive academic years.

Donation Appeal

Vidyamandira has created a dedicated fund to support the Swami Brahmananda Book Bank. Alumni, well-wishers and generous donors are invited to contribute towards this noble initiative.

A contribution of ₹1,500 can help provide books and study materials to three deserving students, enabling them to continue their education with dignity and confidence.

Important Note

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the distribution of books remained temporarily suspended. The College continues to explore suitable opportunities to resume and expand this service for deserving students.
