Vivekananda Sammelan

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira organizes Vivekananda Sammelan every year in collaboration with the Vidyamandira Alumni Association and Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhava Prachar Parishad.

The programme is organized with the objective of inculcating higher values of life among school students, including selflessness, devotion, dedicated action, purity, honesty, truthfulness, tolerance and harmony among different faiths.

Every year the Sammelan is organized in a different district of West Bengal where students from numerous schools participate in cultural and sports competitions inspired by the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

Objectives

To inspire students with the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
To promote character building, selflessness, honesty and dedication among young minds.
To encourage harmony, tolerance and respect for all faiths.
To provide a platform for school students to develop leadership qualities through healthy competition and participation.
To spread the universal message of Swami Vivekananda among the younger generation.

Programme Highlights

Organised annually in collaboration with the Vidyamandira Alumni Association and Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhava Prachar Parishad.
Conducted in a different district of West Bengal every year.
Cultural and sports competitions are organised for school students.
Around 300 schools and nearly 3,000 students participate every year.
Fourteen districts of West Bengal have been covered through this initiative.

About the Programme

Vivekananda Sammelan is one of the flagship outreach programmes of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira. It provides an inspiring platform where school students are introduced to the life, ideals and message of Swami Vivekananda through lectures, cultural events and competitions.

The programme continues to motivate thousands of young learners every year to cultivate moral values, leadership qualities and a spirit of service towards society.
